Berthing information for SailGP
King Point Marina and its sister marina at Sutton Harbour are proud to be co-hosting vessels and teams for the international sailing competition SailGP taking place in Plymouth this month from July 17-18.
As the SailGP technical base is located at Clyde Quay in Millbay, vessels will be moved in and out of the water by a mobile crane between Wednesday 14th and Sunday 18th July. This crane will launch craft with the aid of a temporary sunken mooring located just outside the entrance to King Point Marina. This will not obstruct the entrance to the marina when not in use. While the F50 boats are in the process of being craned in and out of the water, marine access to King Point Marina will be temporarily restricted for safety reasons.
The SailGP team has agreed a timed schedule for this activity each morning and afternoon, to allow berth holders wishing to enter or leave King Point Marina to do so safely for 40 minutes of each hour, with free access every day before 7am, between 11.20am and 3pm or after 7.20pm.
Wednesday 14th – Sunday 18th July
