We take safety issues very seriously. For your safety and enjoyment, we would ask that you and your guests are aware of the following considerations when visiting us at the Marina:
- Familiarise yourself with the location of lifesaving and fire fighting equipment on the pontoons and ashore. Fixed rescue ladders are provided on each pier, the location of which can be identified on our Marina Plan displayed on marina notice boards, with our brochure and available online.
- Take care on the pontoons, particularly when it is wet or icy as they can be slippery. Avoid running and please wear appropriate footwear. Please take special care at night.
- Ensure that young children and non-swimmers wear life jackets when on the pontoons or afloat.
- Do not allow children to ride on or play in the marina trolleys.
- Please report any damaged or defective equipment immediately to marina personnel.
- Barbeques are not permitted on board or on the pontoons.
- Please keep the pontoon walkways clear of equipment.
- Dinghies and tenders should be stored on board to prevent obstruction to adjacent berths.
- Always isolate gas and fuel when leaving your boat.
- Do not ride bicycles, skates or scooters on the pontoons.
- If using an independent contractor, please advise the Marina beforehand as we require evidence of their public liability insurance.
- Please allow water to run for 30 seconds before filling your tanks, coil hoses away tidily and hook the end of the hose behind the tap after use. Do not allow the end to trail on the pontoons or into the water.
- Electricity can kill. Disconnect your vessel’s power lead at the pontoon supply bollard first to avoid a ‘live end’. When connecting a supply, attach the lead at the boat first and work back to the supply bollard. Do not leave live leads on the pontoons.
- Inspect your power leads for wear and tear. Report any damaged supply bollards to marina staff immediately.
- Swimming is not permitted in the marina. Diving is only permitted for authorised contractors with the express permission (permit to dive) of the Harbour Master in compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Speed Restrictions – please observe the “DEAD SLOW” limit inside the harbour at all times and do not cause excessive wash. Take particular care when entering and leaving.
In case of an emergency
- Dial 999 and ask for the relevant emergency service (Police, Fire or Ambulance).
- Contact Marina staff to make them aware of the situation on 01752 204732 (24hrs).
- In the case of fire, please raise the alarm and clear the area of any people, particularly those who are downwind of the fire.
- Only tackle the fire if it is considered safe to do so. Extinguishers are provided at the SOS points on the pontoons as identified on the marina plan displayed on marina notice boards, brochure and online.
- Withdraw and gather at the Fire Assembly Point located within the marina car park.
