Brush up your skills this winter with a sailing course

Brush up your skills this winter with a sailing course

Published on 20th February 2023 On Sailing

Many sailors prefer not to head out on the water during the UK winter, but hopping on a plane to warmer climates could be the perfect way to enjoy sailing all year round. For those that would fancy using the UK winter months to brush up on their sailing skills we’ve put together some suggestions for warmer weather sailing courses.

Greece

With more than 8000 miles of coastline and over 2000 islands to discover, Greece makes for a great sailing course destination in winter. You’ll find a milder climate and calmer seas, so there are lots of great sailing courses available in winter months. Gain extra sailing experience as you sail around the small scattered islands, stopping off to explore ancient Greek ruins and to sample the traditional meze cuisine.

Mallorca

Mallorca boasts decades of sailing history and is a wonderful winter sailing destination to learn how to sail or top up your sailing skills. This is an unbeatable location for having a breadth of sailing facilities on the island and lots of highly qualified sailing professionals. There are also lots of beautiful beaches and coves on the Mallorcan coast, a perfect escape from the cold sailing seas of the UK.

A warm ocean, trade winds, waves and high temperatures all-year-round makes it a brilliant place to bring your sailing skills up to scratch this winter. Tenerife is renowned for its wonderful sandy beaches, sunshine and watersports, so you’ll have plenty of places to explore on a sailing course week or weekend.
